He Gave Us His Comfort To Benefit Others. 2 Cor. 1:3-4 (NIV)

The Bible is filled with promises of God's love and comfort for His people. One such promise can be found in 2 Corinthians 1:3-4, which says, "Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of ALL comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God."

This passage reminds us that God is not only the source of all comfort, but He is also the one who comforts us in all of our troubles and the giver of comforts. This means that no matter what we are going through, whether it be physical, emotional, or spiritual, God is there to comfort us and give us strength.

But what does it mean to be the "God of all comfort"? It means that God is not limited in His ability to comfort us. He is not restricted by time, space, or circumstance. He is able to reach us in our deepest pain and bring us peace and healing. He is not just a God of partial comfort, but He is the God of ALL comfort.

In 2 Corinthians 1:4, it says that God comforts us so that we can comfort others. This shows us that God's comfort is not just for our own benefit, but it is meant to be shared with others. As we experience God's comfort in our own lives, we are able to empathize and comfort others who are going through similar struggles. This is a beautiful example of how God works through our pain and suffering to bring about good and to help others.

It's important to note that this passage does not say that God will take away all of our troubles. In fact, it says that we will face troubles. However, it does promise that God will be with us and comfort us through them. This is a reminder that we are not alone in our struggles and that God is always by our side, ready to comfort us.

So how do we tap into this comfort from God? It starts with having a relationship with Him. When we have a personal relationship with God, we are able to experience His love and comfort in a deeper way. We can also turn to prayer and the Bible, which are powerful tools for finding comfort in God's promises and His presence.

In times of trouble, it can be easy to feel overwhelmed and alone. But we can find peace and strength in knowing that we serve a God who is the source of ALL comfort.
